Bucs Bengals Trade

Buccaneers and Bengals Trade Picks, Bengals Elevate Players

Rosters Adjusted as Deadline Passes

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cincinnati Bengals exchanged draft picks on Tuesday, the NFL trade deadline, with the Bengals also elevating two players from their practice squad to the active roster.

Practice Squad Elevations

Cornerback Sidney Jones IV and wide receiver Stanley Morgan were brought up from the practice squad to bolster the Bengals' roster. Both players have experience in the NFL, with Jones having started 16 games for the Washington Commanders in 2021 and Morgan having played in 15 games for the New England Patriots over the past two seasons.

Trade Details

The Bengals acquired a 2025 second-round pick from the Buccaneers in exchange for their 2024 seventh-round pick. This move provides the Bengals with additional draft capital in the future while shedding salary cap space.

Inactive Mixon

In a separate roster move, the Bengals placed running back Joe Mixon on the inactive list for Tuesday's practice. Mixon, a three-time Pro Bowler, is seeking a long-term contract extension and may not participate in team activities until a new deal is reached.

Other Notable Transactions

The Bengals also traded defensive end Trey Hendrickson to the New Orleans Saints for a 2025 fifth-round pick. Hendrickson had been seeking a contract extension and was unhappy with his role in Cincinnati.

Rookie running back Ramon Jefferson scored the game-winning touchdown in the Bengals' 27-24 victory over the Saints on Monday Night Football.
