"It's difficult": Bayern boss Eberl speaks about planned contract extension with Musiala

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has revealed that the club are in talks with Jamal Musiala over a contract extension, but admits that it will be "difficult" to keep the player at the club.

Musiala's current contract expires in 2026, but Bayern are keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal. However, the 19-year-old is attracting interest from a number of top clubs around Europe, including Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Speaking to Bild, Salihamidzic said: "We are in talks with Jamal Musiala about a contract extension. We want to keep him at Bayern Munich for as long as possible. But it's difficult. There are a lot of clubs interested in him."

Musiala has been one of Bayern's standout performers this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions.

  • The Germany international has also been capped 17 times by his country, scoring four goals.
  • Musiala's impressive performances have led to him being linked with a move to a number of top clubs around Europe.
  • However, Bayern are determined to keep hold of the player, and are confident that they can agree a new contract extension with him.

Salihamidzic added: "Jamal is a very important player for us. He's a great talent and we believe he can become one of the best players in the world.

"We are doing everything we can to keep him at Bayern Munich. But we also know that it will be difficult. There are a lot of clubs interested in him."

It remains to be seen whether Bayern will be able to keep hold of Musiala. However, the club are confident that they can agree a new contract extension with him and tie him down to a long-term deal.
